I've done this before. You must first know what turn off the switch for the outlet and. A circuit breaker can handle 15 A maximum of 6 sockets or fixtures. Flip off the appropriate switch, and check to see what does not work otherwise. When you add light for 6 or fewer points in the switch like, everything is in order.

The most difficult part of the operation is the fishing line in the wall of the attic to the switch. Probably would be a band like "fish".
The ceiling lights are usually in the middle of the room. Determine where the light is off. Drill a small hole in the ceiling where you want light. Push a stiff wire like a coat hanger into the hole. Then go to the attic and find the cable. Use a ceiling electrical box. Adjustable arms are nailed to the ceiling in the attic. Draw the area around the hole. Then cut the hole. Mount the box that is flush with the drywall.
Now the fun part. Here are the top of the wall above the switch. Drill 3 / 4 inch hole at the top ofWall. Remove (the switch on outside the box WITH POWER OFF) by clicking one of the tabs at the top of the box. Then use 14-gauge son. An end in the ceiling and the other end of the fish change into the wall. Connect the cable to the switch, install light back according to the instructions that come with it, turn off the device and that's all.

An easier option is a "prey" type lamp. It hangs from a chain with a cord and makes the chain. Were commonplace in the 60s and 70s, and could give the room a pleasant retro "look. Hang furniture make an anchor on the roof and exchange controls.

Think also of track lighting

Could not have enough power outlets in the room. Be aware that most of the rooms more options could have an overload.

Each time you do not know what to do with electricity, call you an expert.

It would be best to call an electrician. It is sometimes difficult to give advice on electric, because you do not see what you mean and do not know all the facts

But to give an idea of the work has not changed his tank has a cap that keeps you warm all the time? Some do, if you have a clock or something, have the constant energy needs. Choose a roof and make a small opening, go into the attic and see where it into the hole. You can buy roof box that measure the runners at the poles. Then you need a hole in the wall to drill the switch and run a cable into the wall at the ceiling. Then wire up the unit and the switch, then turn the unit back and work. You may need to install an additional switch and get a different or new to feed the power.
So, what I say is calling a professional to ensure that the process of being sure, do not want a fire.

First, if you want CEILING light and then make a hole small pilot project to ensure that the carriers forget. then open the hole the size of the box in the attic ceiling to be installed in accordance with the table between the beams. Housing and Support is usually nailed to the beams. LAN-box after the installation of the room --
