What are some jobs a person in the Navy Nuclear Field can do after military service? - navy field calculator

I leave for basic training in 11 days, and I signed the contract for the nuclear field. My plan is to) a ET (electronics technician. I know that seems to imply, nuclear energy and, possibly, power plants, but I'm looking for individual jobs or perhaps no research and development jobs that I could get into.

I was an hour of nuclear ET about 8 years until 1989. I was on two submarines as reactor operator of the decommissioning of the reactor operators, maintenance supervision (usually an honorary doctorate from a school of the navy, in particular which I participated) and Supervisor quarter machine.

Once you have your Navy training and commitment to complete, there are some things that you jump to, especially in the operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants. This is a good time to enter this field because there is a possibility that the new plants will be under construction when he left the building, or (when) the Navy a career. You can also work for power plants (with the exception of the source of energy, most plants are very similar). You may also consider obtaining a graduate engineer, enter into the labor market. (Note - this is not easy, you've really learned to work, even with the end of the Marina). This may open R & D, but probably to get a Masters / PhD actually do in high-powered something.

If you wish, you can do this, what I did. Go to the university in an entirely different career direction and make it from scratch.

I wish good luck and give you a free consultation for Nuke Power School and beyond. When taking the written test, write everything you asked about the product, but not directly on point. The students get the feeling that something extra points and you can, even if they do not extend to anything that was expected.

There are several things you can do with her studies in the pipeline, an entry-level job is done operating the reactor in most nuclear power plant to open. If you work hard, while they collect and the additional qualifications you can pay directly from the civilian world as an SRO Main Reactor Operator "a little bit more I think it's more $ 10.000 + per year. If you receive a level of research and development is also open for you. If you are in New York, the prototype of the company that considers this research, including GE and Westinghouse are also other programs to go from R & D.

I was a mutant. When I left, I worked as an electrician in my hometown journey level sawmill, where he occupied the central reason for my previous experiences. Since I am an instrument and electrical technicians in chemical plants and manufacturing.

Currently I am working on my energy plant since 4 (including the sawmill) that this is a second turbine of the gas plant.

The reactor is only a heat source. Once the steam is exactly the same. The plant currently has 8 nuclear bombs that work there, including former plant manager and coach of the gas turbine.
